U11's Match Report 09/09/07 Latchford 2 - 10 Bank QuayBank Quay under 11's excellent progress continued with a superb victory over a battling Latchford team, the game started with only 10 players a side due to Latchford being short of players, despite Latchford fielding the bigger team it was Bank Quays forwards who got on top in the opening minutes led by Adam Massey & Callum Hewitt-Owens.
There were not many scoring chances in the opening 10 minutes, the best chance coming to Aaron Barber who beat 4 defenders only to be put in touch as he grounded the ball, but it was not long before Quay scored with Matty Jevons going over for the first of his 4 tries, further tries followed from Aaron Barber and a second form Matty Jevons with Latchford scoring right on the stroke of half time making the score 3-1 in Quays favour.
In the second half Quay continued to dominate the game with the forwards again setting the platform for the backs to run riot, Aaron Barber got the scoring under way with his second try before setting Reece Barry up to go over from the half way line drawing 2 players in before sending him away, it was then Lewis Thorpe's turn to set Reece Barry offloading in the tackle deep in his own half for Reece to fly down the wing to score his second, Latchford then scored a consolation try from close range before Reece Barry crashed through 3 defenders to complete his hat trick, Matty Jevons then scored his 3rd & 4th tries both superb long range efforts his 4th picking the ball up behind his own line before going the full length of the field, the scoring was then completed by Adam Massey who picked the ball up in his own half before going on a barnstorming run through the Latchford team to score.
Team: C Biddle, A Barber, A Boden, H Hodgkinson, L Thorpe, J Jackson, A Massey, C Hewitt-Owens & Reece Barry. Subs: M Jevons, N Astbury, K Gregory, S Parrington, L Cooke & R Wilson
